Up early to go and check out the train station before lugging our suitcases over. What a beautiful looking building! Very impressed with it, the only thing was they didn't make any annnouncements in english and the staff weren't what I would call the friendliest, most helpful people. I went into one office to ask which platform and the lady glared at me and said " the door!" I said "excuse me?" and she again said "the door!" I looked behind me and I had left the door open, big crime here apparently! The door didn't just automatically shut like the seventy billion doors world wide! After going back and shutting the door, very politely I might add! I turned to again ask her my question and she informs me that it'll be on a board 30 mins before departure and walks away! Luckily I don't take these types of things personally and forgave her very quickly, as those who know me will realise I am very good at doing! Train trip wasn't too bad, we went first class which meant we had a seat each instead of being in cattle class on benchs! The scenery for the first half of the 6 hours was quite bland, very flat and lots of sunflowers and wheat , I think. Once we went through Slovenia ( or was it Slovakia?) the scenery changed for the better, little alpine looking villages with multi coloured houses. Arrived in Prague at 430pm , about 30 minutes late and there was Frank waiting for us! Really glad to see him. Came home to be met by Hamish come running to greet us- what a lovely welcome I thought! But then he actually saw us ad turned and ran screaming! Quite funny and then Toby did the same! However in true Bassett style and a couple of toy cars later, we were all the best of friends! Poor Belinda had only got home from Singapore that morning and Carol from Venice, so we were all pretty tired. Off to bed! Mind you it was still after a couple of reds and about 1030pm!
Only one photo and that's me on the train having a beer, must admit getting a taste for their dark beers! Should be quite an expert by the time we get to Ireland!
No photos today!!!
Surely you can just give a one page summary at the end of your trip or are we meant to read this every day? Hopefully you closed the door at Frank and Belinda's place ... you can be sooo rude! More photos of Gary please! Sounds great, very jealous.
ReplyDeleteGary doesn't want to be in the photos because he is the professional photographer, remember! Anyway duh, a blog is about our daily activities, some people are so unsophisticated!
